We're leavin' on a...

...Toyota Hilux!

Today we will be headed to the Aveyime Cattle Ranch located 1 1/2 hours east of the capital city of Accra. The ranch was originally formed in 1973 by an Italian group and they seemed to have done a magnificent job of creating a state-of-the-art operation. The headquarters are equipped with with a foot bath at the main gate, feed bunks, trailer load-outs, and a commodity barn; these guys were obviously setting the ranch up for large scale production. Whatever happened to the operation is beyond anyone within shouting distance and it could be guessed that tumultuous times on the African continent sent the Italians running back to Roma! However, after nearly a decade and a half of peaceful elections, the Ghanaians are ready once again to explore modern ranching operations.
